Day 1 : PARIS / VEZELAY (229 km)
Road to Fontainebleau and Sens.
Visit of the cathedral who was the first Gothic cathedral.
Auxerrois's vineyards cover a total area of 1300 hectares. Five specific names produced there (two communal: Irancy Saint Bris and and three Regional: Bourgogne Côte d'Auxerre, Burgundy Coulanges-la-Vineuse, Burgundy Chitry).
Continuation to Vezelay via the vineyards of Auxerrois.
Day 2 : VEZELAY / DIJON (140 km)
Visit of the Basilica.
High place of Christianity at the gates of Avallon, Vézelay is a charming village.
Departure to Saulieu through Regional Natural Park of Morvan.
Road to Dijon passing by the Ouche valley.
At the heart of the Côte-d'Or, near Dijon, between Auxois and the Beaune region, is the place of the Ouche Valley. The territory is organized in villages built along the river or the Burgundy Canal as Bligny-sur-Ouche Fleurey-sur-Ouche or Pont d'Ouche.
Day 3 : DIJON / SAULIEU (120 km)
Departure to Beaune via villages of magnificent Burgundy wines.
Beaune where a stop and visit is recommended at the Beaune Hospices
Located in the heart of a prestigious vineyard with suggestive names such Pommard, Corton-Charlemagne, Romanee-Conti, Meursault, Santenay, Savigny-les-Beaune ... are twinkling eyes of wine lovers, Beaune is also a city of Art whose most emblematic monument is certainly the Hôtel Dieu (Hospices de Beaune) with its famous roof with glazed tiles
After Chassagne-Montrachet, continue to Saulieu through the roads of Morvan.
Day 4 : SAULIEU / SANCERRE (150 km)
Pretty roads of the Morvan Regional Natural Park will lead you to Settons Lakes then to Pouilly sur Loire famous for its wine: the Pouilly Fume.
Another feature of Pouilly sur Loire: it is located midway between the mouth and the source of the Loire.
Arrival in Sancerre, other famous city for its wine.
This wine is the best I've been drinking! If the people of the kingdom taste, there will be more religious war. " We recommand to have a wine and goat cheese tasting… just nice!
Day 5 : SANCERRE / PARIS (210 km)
Departure to the canal bridge of Briare
This canal-bridge, inspired by the famous engineer Gustave Eiffel
Stop in Gien on your road back to Paris.
The manufacture of Gien was founded in 1821 by an Englishman, Thomas Hall, who wanted to introduce fine English earthenware, also known as "faience" in France.
Motorcycle drop off in late afternoon.
