Day 1: STRASBOURG / SELESTAT (90 km)

Motorcycle rental in our local office then road to Marlenheim, beginning of the route of Alsace’s wine.

Inaugurated in 1953, the “Route des Vins d'Alsace” is one of the oldest Wine Route in France. First, popular tourist rally, she became one of the jewels of Alsace! It winds of 170 km, from north to south through the region and 70 wine villages that are deemed to be the most beautiful villages of Alsace.

After a succession of pretty villages you get to Molsheim.

Molsheim was in the XVII th century a bastion against the reform. His glory came in 1910 when she became the cradle of the prestigious Bugatti cars.

Stop in  Obernai

Obernai experienced its golden age in the sixteenth century with its crafts and its viticulture. Spared the ravages of the Second World War, it preserves beautiful buildings, portals and beautiful monuments, but also the atmosphere of its streets and its backyard that is appreciated.

Stop and stroll in Barr village.

Barr is a beautiful village. Its historical center, remarkably preserved, has a number of beautiful timbered houses. In addition, Barr is still uncrowded, which makes the ride much more enjoyable.

Way toward Dambach-la-ville.

Dambach-la-Ville is one of those charming Alsatian villages, little known to visitors, but which nevertheless offer a beautiful homogeneous group where we can find timbered houses or very flowery rebirth and beautiful fountains.

Arrival in Selestat.

At the heart of Alsace, between Colmar and Strasbourg, Selestat remains poorly known and little visited. Yet it has beautiful monuments, but especially the one of only two humanist libraries in Europe, not to be missed.


Day 2: SELESTAT / COLMAR (70 km)

Today shows and you'll do a return to the past.

Departure for Kintzheim where you'll find the Eagle Park.

Nearby Haut-Koenigsbourg and the wine route, stand on top of a hill the ruins of the medieval castle of Kintzheim. You can see evolve over the old mossy walls, large dark wings, raptors are masters of the place. The Eagle Park gives visitors the unique opportunity to observe and admire in the sky, or a few centimeters of them, the finest and largest raptors in the world, in an impressive show where emotion is great and the sensations guaranteed.

A few minutes away is the Monkey Mountain then few kilometers and you are in Haut Koenigsbourg.

Here almost 900 years the distinctive silhouette of Haut-Koenigsbourg castle marks the Alsatian countryside. Visible from afar, the imposing fortress nestling in the heart of the Vosges Forest, in the center of Alsace, dominates the wine route which winds its feet. Crossing the great door of Haut-Koenigsbourg, is to plunge into the medieval world.

Back to the Wine route and stop to Ribeauville then Short ride to Riquewihr.

Riquewihr is regarded, rightly, as one of the most precious jewels of a region not stingy in wonders! Known as the pearl of the vineyards, this fortified city finds its origins in the middle Ages. She seduces the visitor with its magnificent mansions of the sixteenth and sixteenth centuries.

Way by Kaysersberg, Niedermorschwhir, Turckheim before stopping in Colmar.

Colmar looks like an outdoor museum. Ranked among the most beautiful cities in France, it is only natural that Colmar attracts summer and winter thousands of tourists who appreciate its architectural unity. Colorful half-timbered houses, some of which seem to bend under the weight of a long troubled history, its Renaissance buildings and Unterlinden museum make it an attractive city which some consider the heart of Alsace.


Day 3: COLMAR / SAINT-DIE-DES-VOSGES (170 km)

It is in Colmar, the wine capital of Alsace, that is located the House of Alsace wines

Here you are in the perfect place to learn all about the vineyard, AOC, grape varieties and vintage wines from Alsace in particular through an exhibition of objects wine or a video projection. Brochures are also available to direct you in your itinerary.

Departure for a day you will discover a multitude of charming villages more prettiest than each other!

The circular village of Eguisheim is a small village of winemakers holding the largest wine cooperative winery in Alsace. Here we find the seven Alsatian grape varieties: Sylvaner, Pinot Blanc, Riesling, Pinot Gris, Muscat, Gewurztraminer and Pinot Noir.

Unique Alsace common to hold up four grands crus, namely Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Muscat, Pinot Gris, Guebwiller is therefore an essential step of the Wine Route of Alsace.

Arriving in Thann, you are at the south gate of the wine route. You will reach the Vosges Mountains by the ridge road towards the Grand Ballon.

The ridge road was created during the First World War in a strategic goal to ensure logistics and defense on the front of the Vosges. The ridge road of the Vosges is 88 kilometers long between Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines to the north and Uffholtz to the south near Cernay. It passes from north to south by the Bonhomme pass, Col de la Schlucht The Hohneck, Markstein, Grand Ballon and Vieil Armand. Its highest point is 1343 m to the passage of the Grand Ballon.

Road to the Hohneck 1 245 m, you must climb up to the summit at 1363 m altitude where you will get a great view of the entire region.

In late afternoon, you will arrive in Saint-Die-des-Vosges.


Day 4: SAINT DIE DES VOSGES/  STRASBOURG (100 km)

Departure for Strasbourg by mid-mountain routes.

Way by many passes of the Vosges. Col des Raids, the Las, of the Charbonnière, Fire field and Kienberg.

Arrival to Obernai.

Arrival in Strasbourg in late afternoon and motorcycle drop off.

Strasbourg, capital of Europe and Alsace, has a historical and architectural heritage which makes it the richest city in Alsace. Its downtown is part of UNESCO World Heritage. In addition, museums are especially rich and interesting. Strasbourg is obviously essential not only for its monuments, but also to grasp the different faces of Alsace and Alsatians.
